Candy Hunters

As explained in the article What is Curated Candy, our mission is to help spread the word for relevant emerging and well-known artists. Our team is selecting and inviting artists to participate in this exciting initiative in order to provide exposure for our artist friends while at the same time bringing additional utility to our Candy Hunters holders.

For our Second edition of Curated Candy, we have the pleasure of introducing Fors.

As the original creator and artist of the Skvllpvnkz brand, and co-founder of Skvllpvnkz NFTs, Fors is a true pioneer in the space. His NFT journey began with three separate 1/1 Genesis Collections, each with their own unique art style and lore, which allowed him to showcase the depth of his artistic talents. One way he was able to stand out early on his journey was by incorporating 3D technology into his art long before it became a ‘trend’ and this remains a core element of much of his art.

Fors’ original projects, and the community built around them, laid the foundation for the Skvllpvnkz Hideout NFT 10k Collection. Those who know Fors well will tell you that he is one of the most engaging founders and artists in NFTs. You will find him in discord regularly, hanging out with the rest of the community as if he were a holder himself, which endears him even more to his raving fans.

Now approaching the one-year anniversary of his very first mint, it is inspiring to reflect on what Fors has done in successfully building an entire brand and immersive experience for his beloved Skvllpvnkz community.

In our interview with the man himself, we hear more about Fors’ creative universe, his artistic inspirations, how he started his journey into the NFT world, and his current project.

Can you tell us a little more about you?

I am a creative technologist, mostly specializing in Video editing and 3D rendering. I am at my best when combining a variety of tools to create a piece. I am a hardcore video gamer and gaming has played -and plays- a huge role in my journey to date, from giving me the inspiration to create, challenging me cool ideas I want to recreate, or even helping me to clear my mind before I start on a new blank canvas!

I love all sorts of art and creativity but I have a weak spot for futuristic 3D renders!

When did you start with NFTs?

I started around May 2021, at first, I wanted to create the first NFT gun collection by rendering 3D guns and creating different rarities, skins, and more. I slowly started to realize then was the beginning of profile/avatar looking NFTs, so just like others, I wanted to jump in.

Always fascinated by skulls and their history being used in art throughout the ages, I wanted to create some punk-looking individuals wearing skull masks.

So having the concept I started working on Skvllpvnkz and created around 30 renders/characters and minted them on the 15th of May 2021.

Tell us more about your current project/collection…

I still work only on Skvllpvnkz, even though I am NOT the artist for the generative 2D art, I am the artist of the 3 GENESIS collections(Skvllpvnkz OG, Originz, and Skvllgodz).

As a founder, I focus all my energy on building a nice community focused on creating something genuine that others in this space can benefit from, and in essence helping do our part in pushing this new technology to more and more people.

We currently have 10K Skvllpvnkz Hideout NFTs, that can mint Daycare babies, our very own app including our marketplace, staking and earning $ammo with big things coming up like our 3D art. We also have big partnerships all around the metaverse with our most notable being Nanoverse.

I also still drop SkvllGod 1/1 we are around 70 now and they end up at 101.

What’s the inspiration behind this art piece?

I think I usually find myself making darker stuff so this was a bit challenging for me. I did want to create the sweetopia mountain where the hunters can go get Candy but in a more “realistic” 3D CGI look. It’s supposed to look from another different world but also give little hints of home! (Earth)

What advice do you have for new NFT artists?

To obviously not stop trying, getting sales in is obviously hard, and even though the market is growing so is competition. Stay focused, stay persistent and it will come don’t focus on shilling your art on posts on Twitter, stick to your plan and keep going.

Take, for example, a YouTuber or a twitch streamer, they need to have a schedule and stick to that schedule the longer they do it and the more disciplined they are that’s how they keep growing. Do the same and as soon as you get your first few sales that’s where you keep working even harder. Remember NFTs are not just about the art, enjoy the community building or get someone to help you with it.
